SRSG Ms. Ellen Margrethe Loj visits TCC and Uniformed Components in Bor
09 February 2016 -  The Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, Ms. Ellen Margrethe Loj, on a visit to Bor alongside the UNMISS Police Commissioner Mr. Fredrick Yiga, UNMISS Deputy Principal Security Adviser (Operations) and colleagues from Corrections and DMS representative, commended the TCC components deployed to Bor – Jonglei on the respective roles they play as part of efforts at implementing the new UNMISS mandate including the protection of civilians.

UNMISS engages two communities for peace in Rumbek East
10 February 2016 - On two separate missions,  the UNMISS Civil Affairs Division visited the Gony and Thuyc communities in Rumbek East. The purpose of the visits was to initiate a peace process between the conflicting communities.

UNMISS trains South Sudanese Police officers on how to handle GBV and sexual related issues
UNMISS Human Rights Division through the Women Protection Advisor organized a one week workshop for South Sudan National Police Service (SSNPS) officers in the Special Protection Unit on gender-based violence and on how to handle cases of sexual violence in the state.
