The people of Jonglei are being urged to embrace peace and work towards reconciliation. With a particular call to youth, Information Minister, Jacob Akec Dengdit said citizens should play an active role in promoting peace.

“People of Jonglei state, this is a year of dialogue, a year for peace and reconciliation and healing. It has to start with the youth to make sure they are behind our President’s vision to see this country free of violence,” Dengdit said.

The Minister made the comments while outlining the Jonglei government’s priorities for 2017 to Radio Miraya reporter David Majur in Bor.  He said the government will also rally citizens to embark on agriculture and effective use of the waters of the River Nile to increase food production
