Radio drama to promote peace and national identity

A group of artistic, peace-loving South Sudanese has recently embarked on spreading messages of peace, unity and national identity using a new radio drama series called Soil and Fire.

Targeting citizens from all walks of life, the drama is aimed at helping restore a sense of South Sudanese national identity. The production also wants to contribute to national healing and unity, according to the writer and director of the series, Dr. Justin John Billy, also the dean of music and drama at the University of Juba.

“We believe that the cultural identity of South Sudan will be implemented in this drama. It will be effective because the tools and elements that we use as well as the idea we spread are very sensitive”, an optimistic Mr. Billy tells Radio Miraya.

The production of the series is supported by Kembe Music International.
