16 Feb 2023 - Juba, 16 February 2023 – The number of civilians affected by violence in South Sudan increased sharply at the end of 2022, compared to both the previous quarter and the same period in 2021, according to the latest quarterly brief from the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

05 Feb 2023 - Juba, 5 February 2023: The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) was shocked to receive initial reports of the deadly violence in Kajo-Keji County (Central Equatoria State) that claimed the lives of at least 27 people and left many others injured on 2 February. At least 2000 people, mainly women and children have become internally displaced, including 30 unaccompanied children.

01 Feb 2023 - Juba, 1 February 2023: The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), wishes to raise serious concerns over the reported buildup of the Agwelek forces in Upper Nile state in the past few days. The Mission urges these forces, loyal to General Johnson Olony, to refrain from any actions or movements that might pose threats to civilians and affect humanitarian operations in Upper Nile and Northern Jonglei.

28 Dec 2022 - Juba, 28 December 2022: UNMISS, AUMISS, IGAD, the Troika, EU and R-JMEC are gravely concerned about the escalating ongoing violence, loss of life and reports of alleged use of heavy weaponry in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, by armed youth from Jonglei state. They urge involved parties to immediately cease hostilities, exercise restraint and respect human rights.
