“Ending hunger in our lifetime is possible. We can build a world where everyone, everywhere has access to nutritious food if we all work together as partners to achieve this result,” says George Fominyen, the World Food Programme’s (WFP) communications officer in South Sudan.

We are approaching the end of the first year of implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.  With its 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the 2030 Agenda is a universal vision for peace, prosperity and dignity for all people on a healthy planet.

Traditional chiefs representing the different ethnic groups in the country have made a rallied call for peace in South Sudan.

“Once tribes are united, peace will prevail,” said Deng Macham, head of the South Sudan Council of Chiefs.
