18 November 2013 – Beset by enormous challenges, South Sudan was “travelling a bumpy road” amid some positive signs, the top UN envoy for South Sudan warned today at UN headquarters in New York.
South Sudan joins the international community on 19 November in marking World Toilet Day, which aims to change behaviour on issues ranging from water management to open air defecation. Of the world’s seven billion people, only 4.5 billion have access to toilets or latrines.

14 November 2013 - To increase their knowledge of human rights and the country’s constitution, UNMISS completed a three-day training in Pariang County, Unity State, today for members of the South Sudanese army.

11 November 2013- Seeking to assist about 300 households in Terekeka County, Central Equatoria State, with improved hygiene and sanitation, UNMISS launched a water filter production project there today.
