16 Dec. 2011 - The UN Mission to South Sudan welcomes the call by the Vice President of South Sudan, Riek Machar, urging the communities of Jonglei State to put an end to the impending violence, and to actively and immediately engage in a reconciliatory peace process.

15 December 2011 - In tackling inter-clan conflict in Unity State, the state government set up a committee today in the capital Bentiu to investigate last month's clashes between youths from Rubkona and Koch counties that led to the deaths of an estimated 14 people.
