JONGLEI - As South Sudan is gearing to conduct general elections soon, the United Nations (UN) is committed to supporting preparations for free, fair and credible processes.
Since 2021, Bentiu, South Sudan, has been in the grip of unrelenting floods. UNMISS peacekeepers from Pakistan have, therefore, actioned a new initiative that aims to restore the damage to the regions flora by planting 500 native trees. UNITY - From the United Nations Mission in South Sudan’s (UNMISS) base in Bentiu, adjacent to country’s largest internally displaced persons camp, the remnants of a once vibrant forest stretch in every direction.

WESTERN BAHR EL GHAZAL - Kayango, a locality in Western Bahr El Ghazal’s Jur River county, lies at the center of four corridors where seasonal cattle migration is most intense.
To dispel myths surrounding HIV/AIDS and raise public awareness, UNMISS and Lakes state’s HIV/AIDS Commission facilitated a 10-day for some 26 participants. Peer education, HIV prevention strategies, including safe sex practices and understanding condom use were some key aspects. LAKES – To dispel myths surrounding HIV/AIDS and raise public awareness, the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in partnership with Lakes state’s HIV/AIDS Commission facilitated a 10-day ‘Change Agent’ training.
