While the residents of Uror Country continue to be plagued by cattle raids, revenge killings, and the mobilization of armed youth, the region has become a major destination for displaced families seeking to return and rebuild their lives.

Community members joined with traditional leaders, security forces, civil society and youth to upskill their protection of civilian and conflict prevention efforts at an UNMISS training in Uror, Jonglei.

With predicted record rainfalls in Bentiu, UNMISS peacekeeping engineers from Pakistan are intensively monitoring existing floodwater levels and raising the levels of dykes to protect 300,000 residents against an estimated 50% increase this year.

UNMISS peacekeepers united with local authorities, lecturers and students to clean-up the university in Wau, promoting a cleaner and safer environment for learning as well as building community togetherness and pride.
