The makeshift school in the protection of civilian’s sites is supported by the UN’s children’s agency - UNICEF.

Bentiu hospital has received a new water system from UN Childrens’ Organsation UNICEF.  The water pump produces 162-thousand litres of water a day, serving the hospital’s wards and outpatient facility.  The water system in Bentiu Referral Hospital was damaged and looted during the conflict. 

South Sudan human rights activist Angelina Daniel has challenged the government to deliver on its commitment to prevent sexual violence and other abuses against women, especially in times of conflict. She was reacting to a spate of cases of sexual violence during the recent fighting in Juba.
