For several weeks, thousands of Jie – mostly women and children – have been surviving in Kassengor, Kapoeta, on little but wild fruits for food, and tree leaves to treat medical issues.

The security situation in Gogrial area’s Riang-Alek county has received a major boost with the opening of a new community police station, constructed with funding from the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

Dressed from head to toe in full chef attire, Monica Awalith meticulously and professionally rolls several strips of dough in preparation for baguette orders that have been received the day before.
Across South Sudan, many young people are fighting over ethnic differences.
