The Sudan People’s Liberation Army brigade based in the troubled town of Pibor has committed to protecting children caught up in the armed conflict that has raged across the country for four years.

The first Protection of Civilians site has been successfully closed in South Sudan after internally displaced families expressed the desire and confidence to return to their former homes.

“I am 55 years old and I am attending school with my children and my grandchildren. They even help me study and understand what we are learning.”
