Prison officers serving in Aweil will better respect and protect the rights and wellbeing of inmates in jails across the state after participating in an UNMISS-hosted training workshop.

UNMISS peacekeepers and community members in Yambio launched a collective clean-up campaign, removing a mountain of garbage from the central city, that was not only threatening the environment but also the health and wellbeing of residents.

A friendly football match between UNMISS peacekeepers and women from Yambio set the scene for International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers commemorations which brought hundreds of people together to celebrate diversity, embrace unity, and support peace.

To build capacity and self-reliance, #UNMISS peacekeepers from India provided vocational training for 50 young people enduring difficult living conditions and a lack of opportunities in the #UN Protection of Civilians site in Malakal, #SouthSudan to boost their ability to find jobs and build businesses.
