Juba — The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities following reports of renewed fighting and rising tensions in Eastern Equatoria state.

Preparing for the planned disarmament campaign in Warrap State, South Sudan, UNMISS facilitated a dialogue forum for military and civilian community members that focused on the protection of children in conflict settings.
To improve safety and help expand South Sudan's international airport, UNMISS rehabilitated and returned land occupied by the peacekeeping mission to civil aviation authorities in a mammoth, costly effort that required moving 300 shipping containers, relocating accommodation units, levelling and compacting land, building culverts and clearing drainage systems.
