The makeshift school in the protection of civilian’s sites is supported by the UN’s children’s agency - UNICEF.

A young girl has made an impassioned plea for peace, amid rising concerns about the situation of children in South Sudan.

Joana John Edward, spoke to Radio Miraya’ Breakfast show, and described how the gunshots and the site of soldiers scared her and sent her into a state of fear.

“We’re just tired of what’s going on in South Sudan. We want peace,” rap musician Lual swore, as Radio Miraya sampled the views of some young men and women campaigning for peace in the troubled country.
