The ongoing strife and political turbulence in South Sudan has caused severe damage to an already fragile veterinary infrastructure, especially in Upper Nile region.

The INDBATT-I, fully understanding the importance of veterinary care, conducted a medical outreach clinic to immunize and treat the cattle and livestock of villagers in Renk. The initiative was also aimed to sure up trust with the local officials so that such efforts may to continue in the future.

The veterinary team was comprised of four, including the vet medical officer Lt Col Prashant Tripathi. The team was fully equipped with medicine and surgical kit. The effort was highly successful and well received by the community with the active participation of large number of animal owners.

Upon its conclusion, approximately 600 animals were treated. A side-focus of the activity was to educate the owners of livestock about precautions to be taken to ensure a healthy animal.
