Major General Chaoying Yang takes responsibility as acting Head of UNMISS Force

Major General Chaoying Yang, from China, formally took responsibility as the acting Head of UNMISS Force on 11 November 2016. General Yang has held various command and staff responsibilities of the Chinese People Liberation Army, including Chief of Administration at the China International Institute for Strategic Studies, Brigade Commander, Deputy Defense Attaché at the Chinese Embassy in the UK, Military Attaché in Iraq, Laos and Brazil and High Commissioner of the Peacekeeping Affairs Office, Ministry of Defense. Prior to his appointment as the UNMISS Acting Force Commander; he was holding the position of Deputy Force Commander.
