Officials of the Juba Teaching Hospital, South Sudan’s main hospital, have praised the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, UNMISS, for funding the installation of a solar-powered lighting system in their facility.

Peacekeepers from Ghana have organized a “fun-day” for displaced children in a protection site in Bentiu in northern South Sudan. Various games and a dance competition was part of the programme, which was thoroughly enjoyed by almost a thousand children.

The United Nations and donors from a number of diplomatic missions working in South Sudan are exploring ways to curb the growing number of child rights violations in the face of the ongoing fighting.
