UPPER NILE – Some 53 women and men gathered for two days in Maiwut, in South Sudan’s Upper Nile state with a singular purpose: To create a roadmap of protection of civilians concerns and identify sustainable community-based solutions.

JONGLEI – A lack of access to safe water remains a significant challenge for the people of South Sudan.
Civilians are bearing the brunt of a surge in intercommunal conflict in pockets of South Sudan with 862 victims documented as being killed, injured, abducted, or subjected to conflict-related sexual violence during these incidents in the last quarter of 2023.
