We are approaching the end of the first year of implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.  With its 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the 2030 Agenda is a universal vision for peace, prosperity and dignity for all people on a healthy planet.

Traditional chiefs representing the different ethnic groups in the country have made a rallied call for peace in South Sudan.

“Once tribes are united, peace will prevail,” said Deng Macham, head of the South Sudan Council of Chiefs. 

The UN Mission in South Sudan - UNMISS, has condemned the rising wave of insecurity in parts of the country including in Mayom County, where an attack on a convoy in Adok earlier in the week left a Member of Parliament wounded.
