The Human Rights Division (HRD) of UNMISS last week conducted a human rights awareness programme with the Western Lakes members of parliament (MPs).

Authorities in Terekeka State are calling on the UN Mission in the country to help communities dialogue in order to foster peaceful co-existence.

The call was made during a recent UNMISS visit to the area, aimed at exploring opportunities of mutual interest.

A team of researchers from the PeaceTech Lab Africa, created by the United States institute of Peace – USIP, are undertaking research into the impact of online hate speech and how social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube have been used to generate and incite hatred.
