More than 800 households which lost property during violence in the Ikpiro residential area in Yambio have received humanitarian assistance.

The UN Security Council today renewed, until 15 April, sanctions which it imposed in a resolution it adopted last year, directed at those blocking peace in South Sudan.

It also extended the mandate of the Panel of Experts tasked with overseeing the sanctions until 15 May.

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) Police Commissioner, Mr. Frederick Yiga, has completed his tour of duty. He has occupied this position since May 2012.
