Peacekeepers from Ghana have organized a “fun-day” for displaced children in a protection site in Bentiu in northern South Sudan. Various games and a dance competition was part of the programme, which was thoroughly enjoyed by almost a thousand children.

The United Nations and donors from a number of diplomatic missions working in South Sudan are exploring ways to curb the growing number of child rights violations in the face of the ongoing fighting.

Some 2,000 residents of the township of Akoka are jubilant: Indian peacekeepers serving the United Nations Mission in South Sudan have rebuilt the bridge which connects them with the state capital Malakal.
