The Protection of Civilian(PoC) site adjacent to the UNMISS  base in Wau is currently sheltering more than 33,000 civilians who fled their home because of insecurity and the mission with  partners is looking into ways to  creating enabling environment to decongest the site.

Danish Minister of Development Cooperation, Ulla Tørnæs made stops at the Bandar Primary School and Protection of Civilians site in Malakal during a recent trip to South Sudan.  

The recently refurbished Malakal Courthouse was reopened in a ceremony attended by the Governor, the UNMISS Head of Field Office, Cabinet Ministers, humanitarian leaders as well as members of the local community.
