4 January 2013 - Prominent South Sudanese opinion writers paid tribute to the late Diing Chan Awuol at the Nyakuron Cultural Center in Juba today.

28 December 2012 - Boosting the mission's ability to airlift personnel and supplies in South Sudan, 120 Rwandan aviation troops arrived today to join UNMISS in the capital Juba.
Demobilized children can be found in all 10 states of South Sudan. Many are attending high school or receiving training in practical vocational skills. Several are now adults with successful professional careers.
