The benefits of breastfeeding are in the limelight as authorities in South Sudan join the international community in observing World Breastfeeding Week.

In efforts to mitigate conflicts at the grass root level, the UNMISS Civil Affairs Division in Torit has engaged a number of civil society groups to work with their respective communities.

One such group is the “Union of Monyomiji” in Torit, which literally translated as “Youth Union”.

The United Nations Children's Fund UNICEF and the NGO INTERSOS are working collectively to tackle the lack of educational materials reported by students to improve the teaching standard at the UNMISS Protection of Civilian site in Malakal.
