SSNPS officers start explosives’ disposal course

9 September 2013 - UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS) and UN Police (UNPOL) launched an eight-week course on Conventional Munitions Disposal for South Sudan National Police Service (SSNPS) officers in Rajaf today.

Twenty-four SSNPS Criminal Investigations Department officers from the Greater Bahr El-Ghazal region are attending the course, which has been organized with logistical support from the Irish Army.

Similar courses will be conducted for SSNPS teams from other regions in January and May next year. UNPOL and UNMAS will also mentor SSNPS officers once they are deployed.
