UN Peacekeeping chief meets president Kiir: Solution to South Sudan’s problems has to be political (including audio)

The President of South Sudan, H.E Salva Kiir, has today received the outgoing Under Secretary-General of the United Nations for Peacekeeping Operations, Hervé Ladsous, in Juba.
Hervé Ladsous, told President Kiir that the solution to the problems facing the country has to be a political one. He said that the United Nations and the humanitarian community must be supported in their efforts.
“No impediments must be put in their way because they only want to help”, Mr. Ladsous said.
Hervé Ladsous together with the Under Secretary-General designate Jean-Pierre Lacroix, arrived in the country on Monday for a two-day official visit.
