50 Fire Brigade recruits graduate in Yambio

Over 50 newly recruited and fire brigade Officers, forty five men and ten women have graduated in Yambio to protect the civilians from fire outbreak and other related hazards which affect their community.

This is the second group of graduates to be stirred out since the Fire Brigade force was established in 2005 by the former South Sudan leader of SPLM/SPLA, Dr. John Garang, after the signing of the CPA.
 
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Paul Mbengo, Director of the Brigade, said the motto of the fire brigade is to save lives and to protect government and community properties, and further more to create awareness concerning fire precaution to the citizens.”  Mr. Mbengo also added that the fire brigade officers are ready to die to save the lives of any person facing danger.
 
During remarks, Jackson Ezekiel, the Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement, urged the officers to utilize the skills they have acquired during their training to offer services to the people adequately and professionally.

Ezekiel asserted that they should not put emergencies such as vehicles first, but to do what they can to save lives.
