Ambush on UNMISS convoy in Jonglei State leaves 12 dead

A wounded civilian arriving in Juba after an ambush on an UNMISS convoy by unidentified assailants near Gumuruk in Jonglei State on 9 April. Five peacekeepers and two civilians working with the mission were killed in the attack along with five civilian contractors who were traveling in the convoy. At least nine more peacekeepers and civilians were injured. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and his Special Representative in South Sudan Hilde F.
