Mongolian Peacekeepers renovate Pariang Primary School

Mongolian Peacekeepers (MONBATT) carried out a renovation project of Pariang “A” Primary School which included a bloc with two classrooms and teachers’ room.  Renovation works were done to the wall, roofing, ceiling, flooring, windows and doors of the block. MONBATT also constructed a new toilet with septic tank and worked on leveling the walking path and fencing of the compound.

UNMISS Head of Field Office Ms. Hiroko Hirahara, MONBATT commanding Officer Col. Baljid Baatar, together with local officials, and the Director of Pariang “A” Primary School, Simon Mijok Kuol took part in completing the renovation project by painting the doors of the school block and planting  tree seedlings.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, UNMISS Bentiu Head Field Office (HOFO) Hiroko Hirahara said “I am completely honored and very happy because I am here to open and handover this wonderful school, which has been renovated using the Mongolian Peacekeepers own resource.”

Last year, MONBATT renovated similar school structures through Quick Impact Project.
