The deputy governor in Bentiu, John Juor Yoach, used the local celebration of Human Rights Day to call on the organized forces and other government actors to respect human rights.

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) on Friday commemorated the International Human Rights Day with the community of Maleng-Agok under the theme: “Stand up for someone’s rights today.”

Michael Kingsley-Nyinah from the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) has called upon the government and people of South Sudan to remember the hope and joy that filled the nation at independence as they work towards resolving the crisis.
