A UN delegation led by Mr. Eugune Owusu, the UNMISS DSRSG, visited Wau to assess the current situation.  The recent fighting in the town led to civilian causalities, property damage as well as displacement of citizens.

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan and the Islamic Council Worldwide today handed over a solar powered water facility to a community in the Gurei suburb of Nyarkenyi Payam, Juba County.

Bentiu hospital has received a new water system from UN Childrens’ Organsation UNICEF.  The water pump produces 162-thousand litres of water a day, serving the hospital’s wards and outpatient facility.  The water system in Bentiu Referral Hospital was damaged and looted during the conflict.
