South Sudan joins the global community in celebrating World Press Freedom Day on 3 May under the theme "Safe to speak: Securing Freedom of Expression in All Media".

Juba, 29 April 2013 - The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) welcomes the declaration of peace with the government of South Sudan announced by South Sudan armed groups.

27 April 2013 - Seeking to improve their journalistic skills, reporters and editors from Radio Jonglei attended a training workshop organized by UNMISS in Bor today. In addition to writing and grammar exercises, journalists discussed the importance of their work in South Sudanese development.
