Mechanical engineers, belonging to the Republic of Korea peacekeeping contingent of UNMISS, have been working hard to repair flood-affected roads and bring under control rising water levels in Bor town in SouthSudan. The high intensity of rainfall has meant that Bor town has had to contend with roads flooding, making them unusable for the local population and humanitarian actors in the region.

By building a drainage system, the peacekeepers are helping to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the area and the movement of displaced persons returning to Bor town. Their efforts are also making sure that the main supply route for commercial and emergency activities in Bor town is passable.
