UNMISS Monbatt Peacekeepers celebrate their armed forces anniversary in Bentiu

An UNMISS Mongolian contingent (Monbatt -5) performed music  and displayed artwork for thousands of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)  in the Bentiu PoC site in connection with  the 95th  Anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian Modern Armed Forces.

During the celebration the Peacekeepers shared their heroic armed forces history including their engagement in UN Peacekeeping.

“The work that you are doing  in protecting  the PoC and your efforts, out in the counties  especially in Leer are outstanding “, said Ms. Hiroko Hirahara Head of the UNMISS Bentiu field office while speaking at the military parade .

She then commended the peacekeepers for choosing to serve their country in the military and for the services they render in South Sudan and  expressed her optimism to continue to represent their country and the United Nations.

Ms. Hirahara also positively noted the considerable number of female peacekeeper serving in the contingent.
 
UNMISS Sector North staff, Senior Monbatt Officers, and humanitarian actors in Bentiu also attended the event.
