Ten mechanical engineering instructors at the Multi Service Training Center (MTC) in Juba concluded a two-day workshop on repairing and maintenance of air conditioners and generators. The training was facilitated by the UNMISS Japanese engineering contingent.

Participants were happy with their learning experience, with some expressing their gratitude to the UN peacekeeping mission and saying that their new skills will benefit not only them but also the nation as a whole.

In his closing remarks, the mechanical engineering workshop manager at MTC, Zachariah Laila, also commended the UNMISS initiative.

“It is not the first time that the Japanese engineering contingent has come to MTC, we have been collaborating with them for a long time and we need that kind of support to continue improving.”

Mr. Laila appealed for more training opportunities, particularly on new techniques in the field of mechanical engineering, to keep their know-how up to date.
